100 Happy Days: Day 9
A box of nerd goodies! I just love when packages like this show up! Six more wonderful books to add to my classroom collection.
Two of these I have already read and needed an actual copy of my own for the classroom. The others I am going to be reading. First up, Paper Towns by John Green. He is also the author of The Fault in our Stars. He is very popular author for teens these days! I enjoyed The Fault in Our Stars and so far am enjoying Paper Towns. His writing is not like your typical young adult writers, so I am impressed that they love his books so much. It does have the basics of love, drama, etc., but it's the way he writes that is different. I like it!
What are you reading right now? Recommend anything?

100 Happy Days: Day 8
Yeah, so I get behind, but I could list my happy for everyday this past week. I LOVE summer! I downloaded an app for blogger, so hoping for easier access to this blog!
Project #2 for my classroom is complete! It was actually meant for my prayer wall in my bathroom, but colors didn't match, so it will be perfect for my new classroom.
This was project #1
I forgot to take before and after pictures. I am really sad about that, it was a boring brown before.
This is 2 of many more projects to come. Some for my classroom and some for our house. We have lived here nearly 2 years and we still haven't painted. All colors for bedrooms have been picked out, not to actually paint them. The guest bathroom has already been done and now to paint the master bathroom. Starting with the small and to me, the most difficult. Bathrooms have so many corners and edges to worry about. Ugh!
Do you have any summer projects that you plan to complete?

More Like Mega-Me
While we were in San Antonio, we decided to go to the River Walk and walk around, enjoy the beautiful weather and then go to dinner with some family that lives down there. I told my daughter before we left that we would have one night that we could wear a dress (we both LOVE wearing dresses), since most of our activities involved athletic clothing. She packed her bag, I packed mine. We go to get dressed and this is what occurred....
TWINKIES!
Seriously. This was not planned! HA! My mini-me. Except, I noticed that she is no longer holds the "mini" role, she is my "mega" me! I couldn't believe how much taller she was than me. When the heck did that happen??? I sure do love being able to share clothes with her though! Whoot!!

100 Happy Days: Vacation Week
My 100 Happy Days got behind, but for an excellent reason! We were off enjoying life and our family without distractions! VACATION BABY!
100 Happy Days
Oddly enough, none of the clothing was planned, we all got dressed and didn't realize we coordinated with each other until after we looked at the pictures! Ha!
Day 4:
Celebrating Father's Day with a vacation was excellent. We were thrilled to begin our day celebrating the man who gives us so much. He loves deeply and unselfishly. I love this man so much.
Another favorite for this day and this precious boy surprising me with a flower he picked just for me to put in my hair and then to hear him tell me how pretty I am. Man, I sure needed to hear that this week, it had been a rough one!
Day 5:
While we are not huge basketball fans or specifically Spurs fans, we had the unexpected pleasure of being in San Antonio when the Spurs won the NBA Championship! Our hotel was right where all the parades and celebrations were happening. Our children said this was their favorite part of the entire trip, they absolutely loved people watch and being a part of the commotion. The Spurs have some seriously committed fans and we laughed so much that night.
It was also hilarious to watch my son who is typically shy force himself in front of the news cameras and make himself known. He was great! He had others around him laughing hysterically, his parents included!
Day 6:
These fish were by far my favorite part of the San Antonio Zoo! We could feed and pet them at the same time! I have never been able to "pet" a fish before! They would eat the food right out of our hands and suck on our fingers. I LOVED it! It was a interesting experience.
Did you know that Flamingo babies don't come out pink already?
Yeah, I did. We learn something new everyday!
Day 7:
Our last night of our vacation was to go tubing, it was a first time for our family and it was a blast! I could do that more often, we already hope to make it back out there before the end of the summer in order to go tubing again. Hours on a river, relaxing, talking and simply enjoy each other. What more could anyone ask for?

100 Happy Days: Riding with the Dinosaur
100 Happy Days:
Day Three
Once upon a time a mother and a daughter went on an unexpected adventure while riding their bikes. They never expected to come across Billy the dinosaur. Oh, what a grand day it was! Billy took mother and child to a far away magical land where unicorns existed, but in every color you can imagine! The mother and daughter were filled with joy at all the wonderful things they encountered and could have never imagined seeing in their lifetime. The adventures they had were like no other and the memories of that day will be held in their hearts forever. They did get to snap a quick picture of Billy, he was so fast that it was almost a miracle to capture a glimpse of the large, happy dinosaur.
Meet our new friend Billy

100 Happy Days: Hospital Flowers
100 Happy Days:
Day Two
I LOVE when the crazy husband of mine brings me home flowers. It is so romantic. Especially, when he picked them from the hospital parking lot! Doesn't that say love to you? HA! It does in my world. They really are some pretty flowers and now we are on the hunt to find where we can get these type of flowers to plant in our back yard.

100 Happy Days
I have been participating in the 100 Happy Days on FB for the last 50 days. I have found that I love it! It makes me pay attention each day to something that has made me happy. Having a bad day? Find that one thing that did make you happy that day. Big or small, it doesn't matter, just find something that made you smile in that day. We should be able to find something to post each day.
I have decided to do this on here too, but plan to start over just for my blog. Want to join in? Go to 100happydays and sign up! Make sure to post on your blog each day what made you happy.

Go and be happy!
What a Year!
It has been nearly a year since I have posted anything on here. I sure do miss blogging and having that time where I freely write for myself and not for any other reason! I think I got to the point where I was writing to others and not for myself. I started putting pressure on myself to make sure it was perfect for others to read and that was never my intent. Of course, blogging is for others to read, but it was never my goal to be a top blogger, or perfect in any way. I am far from perfect, so I am back to doing what I enjoy for me! My sweet escape.
I started thinking about this past year and all the changes that have occurred. I had some major changes in my life this year and I am very grateful to say that they were all good changes. We, of course, had our ups and downs, but I am on a path of trying to find the good in all things.

In this past year:
I went from having braces for 5 1/2 years, to getting them off! FINALLY!
I took teens to church camp and created the best bumble bee golf cart on earth with some awesome ladies.
I watched my daughter fall in love with gymnastics and work hard each week to get better.
After 12 LONG YEARS, I GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE!!!
I, also, landed the exact teaching position that I wanted.
And then I went wild and drastically changed my hair color. It shocked everyone around.
I love it!
I, also, went a little bit more wild and got matching tattoos with my husband.
His wedding band and my on my foot.
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8
Celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. Celebrating living life together for 12 years.
Watched my son compete and win 1st place in a flag football league at The Cowboys Stadium. Yeah, yeah, AT&T Stadium, who truly cares, it will always be The Cowboys Stadium in my book.
Sent my daughter to her last Jr. High dance. Cried knowing she will be in High School in just a few short months. I just love her style! She wore bright blue converse with her dress!
Fell in love with Kayaking! I mean we REALLY, REALLY LOVED IT!
Joyfully watched my father-in-law make a massive recovery from a tree falling on him and nearly killing him. A year later, he was out in the field playing baseball with his children and grand-children. It literally brings tears to my eyes to think about it!
Go a little bit more wild and get a best friend tattoo with my bestie of 12 years.
Watch this boy become an awesome catcher, it only took two seasons and we have select baseball coaches asking for him to be on their teams. It's exciting!
And most importantly...
Enjoying everyday with them. They make my heart smile.
