Unfortunately my doctor was correct when he said I would be back within 5 years to get other ovary removed. My one remaining ovary had a very large cyst on it and he assumed correctly that it was covered with endometriosis. What none of us expected was the extent of how much the endometriosis had spread. When they went in, they found that it had spread to all my lower organs (colon, ovary, stomach, etc.), they were fused together, and in the wrong locations.
They had to burn off all the lesions and clean up some of the severe scar tissue. So what was suppose to be a small laparoscopic surgery with two small incisions ended up being one very large incision with 22 staples. The doctor told my husband that he did a lot of moving around of the organs, which apparently equals a large amount of pain!
With all that said, my advice? Don't go 4 years in between getting your checkup! Off to take my pain meds and dream about aliens and zombies fighting on the moon and creating a new species. (I have very strange dreams when I take pain meds)
