Casting Crowns

I believe I have mentioned before how much our family LOVES Casting Crowns. As in it is the main songs that are played over and over in our car, house, etc. Ya know in every place we play music you will hear some Casting Crowns. We love their songs, messages, and their obvious love for God.

Now let's mix our love for them and the Rangers together, you get AWESOMENESS! I mean really? Mix two of my favorite things together and I am talking one fantastic day! Oh wait! Let's add in meeting the entire band? Double oh wow, I can't believe our luck kinda experience! I was beyond excited when we hung around for just a bit and managed to meet all of the band and my son got to get pictures with them. They were genuinely some of the nicest people. They each waited around to sign autographs and talked to their fans. The violinist for the band has an amazing story to share and the fact that The Aggrivator got to take a picture with her is amazing in itself...she doesn't usually do pictures or autographs because she has severe arthritis that makes it hard to sign or shake hands with people. She shy away from it in order to protect herself, but she did come over to take a picture with him because there weren't a huge group left at that point. Her story is nothing short of amazing. To know everything she has went through and still continues to play and spread God's love is astounding. To read her blog you can go here. Well worth the read.

All that said to say we had an amazing day and all because somebody thought we would like some free tickets to a Rangers game! Well, of course we do!

Oh and a side note? They sound just as amazing in person as they do on their cds!

Guess who tried out for the 8th grade band and made it???
This girl right here....

We are so extremely proud of all her hard work and effort she has put into band as a first year student in 6th grade! It is now paying off and she is one of a select few who gets to play with the 8th grade band as a 7th grader! She is beyond excited and we are extremely excited for her.

Comfort Zone Be GONE!

One of my goals in my life in the past few months has been to stretch myself and go outside my normal comfort zone. I have moments where I have done this and while I feel inwardly extremely embarrassed at the time, it has been so much fun and worth it in the end. We have become youth leaders in our church and let me tell you what, junior high girls will push you out of your comfort zone! It's been amazing!!

I have also created a bucket list of things I have wanted to do and that is slowly getting bigger, while also marking things off here and there. One of the things I have wanted to do was some video blog posts. I'm not sure what I would say, but I sure do think it would be a lot of fun to do! It means I would have to build up some confidence and go outside my comfort zone for sure!

What is something you would video blog about? Would you do it to be funny or just anything? I'm not a comedian so I'm not sure what I would talk about, but still think it's a great way to get to "know" a blogger a bit more! One day soon, I will be marking that off my bucket list!

Monday Music

Our church performed this song yesterday and I fell in love with it. Simply said, there is no one like Him. He is greater, stronger, higher. He is everything.

Wrapping up the School Year

As the end of one school year is coming to an end, I can't help but be extremely relieved. What a year! Oh my, this year has been awesome and awful all rolled into one. Miss Squeakers had the most amazing teacher we have ever to experience, while The Aggravator had one of the worst we have ever experienced. I have a firm belief that with teaching, you can not do it for a paycheck, it has to be for the love. This lady? I am not sure why she is there other then to show daily disdain for children. Not just mine, nearly every single one of them. Long year. On flip side, I am extremely sad to see Miss Squeakers lose her teacher, that man is amazing. Madame Emotions had a great year, making mostly all A's this year and is off to 7th grade next year! 7th grade??? That sentence takes my breathe away. She's taking all AP classes next year, I am very nervous and excited for her. The child who is dyslexic has risen above her challenges and is doing amazing!

My own schooling is done and what a semester it was, tough and long. Bleh. I made my first C this semester and wanted to cry when I saw it. Yet, I need to be happy I passed at all, that class kicked my butt. Many a days of studying for hours, praying I would just pass the test.

I have not had the time to post or the desire to lately and I was trying to figure out why. I think I have discovered that while I was short on time I wanted to spend every minute I could with my family. Also, my life has changed so dramatically in this past year that I am a different person, my feel for my blog will be different if I do post. I have been hesitant to come back, I forgot that I started this blog for myself. I didn't start it for the followers, while I absolutely love getting that ding of the email, saying I have a message, I also forgot to write what I wanted and not what I thought would be funny or bring followers. I believe that I have to write what I feel and love, if I get the followers from that, then I am super excited! I love the communication in the blog world.

As I will always post on my children, I also plan on posting about myself, my changes, and the continue effort to keep changing into the person that I know God wants me to be. Life has turned into a different one for us and I love the changes. I love that God has changed our family as a whole, I have been incredibly blessed. Saying all that to also say that it's been hard, life has still had it's suck moments where your head is spinning with the why. The ups and downs, the mostly downs, but dealing with those with God in our life. It's been an interesting to say the least!

I hope you join me on our adventure.
