Ooey and Gooey

This should be the post where I am all ooey and gooey over celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. And I while I am incredibly blessed to call this man my husband, I am also not going to spill my ooze all over you. I love him deeply. We have been through good times, hell times, and back to good times. I'm sure that cycle will continue, but what I look forward to is those times together. Sticking it through, together.

Ooze complete.

And then comes the reality of life. He is working on our anniversary this year, which stinks in general, but a hazard to the career he has. It's to be expected and we will be celebrating it by going away for four days in about two weeks, so it's all good.

The not so awesome part? I get to spend our anniversary going to the hospital to get a sonogram and blood work done. Oh what's that your thinking? Oh wow, maybe she's pregnant! Nope. That ship as sailed long ago. This time, on my anniversary, I get to let some random sonogram technician scan my breasts. Sounds fun, right? Yep. If I wanted to be felt up on this day, surely I could have at least had my husband home! ;)

All this to say, keep me in your prayers, I am having to get lots of test done to determine what is going on with me. This has been a long time coming and glad to finally be able to get some answers. They will be checking for lumps inside my breasts that aren't surfacing on the outside, testing some mumbo jumbo levels, and depending on what those show, we might be doing some biopsies. I have a swollen lymph node that has been there for awhile, so they are checking out that too. I am nervous, but truly trying to think of the best. The doctor seems very determined to find out what is going on and that is an encouragement after the types of doctors we have come across in our past.

So, not really the way I would like to spend our anniversary, but at the end of the day, I know that I have the most amazing husband to lean on when I need him. Very blessed indeed.

Another First

We got the opportunity to go to the Mavericks game last night and had a blast! The tickets were for a suite, which was really nice when taking all the kids. We didn't have to worry about them sitting the entire game. It was another new experience for Sir Worksalot and the kids. I love being able to see them experience things they never have before!

I Love You Too

Found this on my pillow after a long, stressful day. It really put everything into perspective and reminded me of what's important. I love the sweet spirit of my boy.

This is my current motivation to keep at it. Small motivations along the way keep me going. Our anniversary weekend is coming....

Momma's Happy Dance

After many years of driving what got us from point A to point B, and sometimes it actually leaving us stranded with major problems, we brought this home this weekend. The happy dance is happening.

First Dance

She went to her first school dance last night. And yes, I cried. She look so grown and gorgeous. Her daddy asked if it was possible to go ahead and just make her ugly. I laughed hysterically, because he's not ready for this grown beauty to be grown either. People always say that growing up is tough. I think what they forgot to say is, hard on the parents!

Passing on the Knowledge

I have been teaching Madame Emotions how to cook and now Miss Sqeakers has picked up on wanting to cook. Tonight's lessons involved big sister teaching little sister. Simple moments like this melt my heart.

Textbook Overload

I am taking 15 hours of classes next semester. It's a step up, I have previously only taken 12 hours, which was tough in itself. I decided to take another step up and add another class, I am beyond ready to be done. The reality of my decision is slowly starting to sink in as I look over the book lists for my classes. I currently have 23 books on the list. Yes, you read that correctly. 23. INSANITY! And for the record, that won't be all, because they haven't even listed books for one of my classes. I haven't even added up the cost yet. I am scared. Very, very scared. Over a 16 week period, how does one even read that many books? I love to read and can't even imagine it.  Let's pray I can juggle it all, because failing any of my classes would only be a huge setback financially and academically.

De-clutter Time

All this from under beds and in closets. It's been a fun day. Or not! Love what happens when I am done though, a clean, pretty room!

Tooth Fairy Visits

We received a tooth fairy visit!! It was very exciting. Pardon her weird looking eyes, she had been crying from her same old, awful leg pain. She soon chose to ignore it, best as possible, and have joy. The tooth fairy came!

Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle Yeah!

That's what we did and what I sang as I was wiggling my baby girls tooth tonight. Then all the sudden, it was in my hands! We are one excited, tooth fairy waiting family! Yippee for fun firsts for this beautiful girl!

My New Addiction

My new hobby! We took a trip to Indiana, which I hope to post about later, and learned how to knit from my Aunt. I have been wanting to know how to knit for such a long time and I love it! I have known how to crochet for several years and can now cross this off my list too. Here are my first few projects. Everyone around here has been getting scraves. I have also made a couple of wash cloths, but don't have any pictures of those. Love them!!

My very first project!

One that I made for my favorite co-worker who is always trying to fatten me up with her amazing made from scratch yummies!

Madame Emotions lime green one, actually one of my favorites. The picture doesn't do it justice, the color is so shiney and pretty!

The start of my next scarf, for Miss Squeakers

My next goal is to figure out how to make a headband to use when I go running that covers my ears too! Oh and the best part?? My husband, the manly man, learned to knit too while we were there! And he is starting on his first scarf this week. It just makes me smile to think of him knitting.

Happy New Years

Happy New Years!
It's been such a long time, I am hoping once again that I can pick back up here in the blogging world.
Here is an updated view in pictures, a written one to come.
